MARYLAND NET ZERO ENERGY SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Maryland Net Zero Energy Schools program is designed to support the development of three new construction Net Zero Energy schools within the BGE service area. DVA Energy is an independent consultant helping the program administrator the Maryland Energy Administration, and works with the participating county school districts; architect and engineering firms (A/E) contracted to design the school, provide net zero energy building support and help validate the energy aspects of the design.

The program has been successful and on track since FY13. Grant agreements are in place with Howard County Public Schools and Baltimore City Public Schools. The first net zero school in Howard County is currently under construction and we are in the process of starting one more school each in Howard County and two more in Baltimore City.
